Situated about 50km to the north of CLC Apollonium Spa & Beach Resort you will find the Dilek National Park which is a protected green area on the Dilek peninsula allowing wildlife and vegetation to thrive.
This Turkey natural park is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of busier tourist towns where you can enjoy walking in the countryside, picnics in the woods and even take a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean sea.
The park has many coves, bays and beaches to discover, in particular Icmeler bay, which is the ideal choice for families who wish to swim in the sea as this is the only beach throughout the natural park that has a sandy beach, it is also the closest to the entrance to the park.
Although the other bays are beautiful in their own right, couples with young children may find Icmeler the easiest of beaches as all the others are made up of pebbles and rocks.
Idyllic Turkish countryside
The Dilek National Park offers an idyllic setting with many pine forests and woodlands set against the back drop of the Aegean sea, the Greek island of Samos is only 1-2km away and dominates the background from virtually every sea view.
For country walkers, the Turkey natural park offers many trails and pathways, numerous clearings with wooden tables and chairs provide ideal places to stop for picnics. It should be noted that the lighting of any fires or barbecues is strictly forbidden within the park.
Walkers will get the chance to discover a variety of wildlife that call Dilek National Park their home and it is not unusual to find a family of wild pig wandering about the woods. Some of the park’s other inhabitants include over 25 species of mammal, 42 species of reptile and a wide range of marine animals.
Dilek National Park Flora
